A huge amount of our monthly budget is spent on Power costs, home phone lines and tolls, internet cost and mobile phone plans. A number of businesses exist to help really drive down costs or to provide you with comparative information.
Power suppliers
If you have been with one traditional Power supplier over the last few years then there is a good chance you are paying too much. Here are two new options; either should save you money:

Phone & Mobile

2 Degrees have a low pre-paid offer of 44 cents per minute anytime to anyone in NZ (or 22 cents to other 2 Degrees mobile phones). Texts are 9 cents each or 2 cents to any other 2 Degrees phone. Sim cards are $5 and you can keep your 021 or 027 numbers so the overall offer is an excellent one.

Compass Communications offers special low calling rates for residential customers on contracts. These include mobile calls from $20 per month plus 25 cents per minute. Also get 600 texts per month to any mobile for $10 and low toll rates such as 17 cents per minutes for National calls
Internet

With Slingshot Free off-peak downloading it means that any data you use between your plans specific 'off peak' period won't count towards your monthly data cap. How good is that! This includes absolutely anything that you do on the internet at that time.
